At The Dog Barber, we go above and beyond to care for your dog’s skin and coat. Our passion lies not only in the beauty of grooming, but the science behind it.

Did you know that simply washing a dog’s coat with shampoo can leave it dry and irritated? And although conditioning takes extra time and cost, we wouldn’t have it any other way because we know it’s a vital part of keeping your best friend’s skin hydrated and healthy.

We also provide an ear and eye clean with nail trimming, as part of every standard groom. These extras are essential in avoiding nasty infections and costly trips to the vet in the long run.

  • Your dog’s skin is one of seven vital organs. And although it’s also the largest organ, it’s very frequently neglected. The benefits of keeping the skin and coat clean (and the skin hydrated) go far beyond helping your dog look great – they’re actually essential for overall health.

    There are more benefits to good grooming than we can possibly list here, but here are our favourites:

    Of course, dogs do not need to be bathed as often as humans, but as a general rule, we like to think that our best friends should be treated to a wash and groom at least once every 4 weeks.

    Of course, not all breeds require a de-shed, just as some breeds should never have their hair cut with clippers. Knowing which length and style is optimal for your breed of dog is what we do best, so don’t hesitate to pick our brains when you make your booking.
